DRAWMHAHA (SVITEN) POKER
A Community and Split Pot Game Similar to Omaha Poker
Drawmaha (Sviten) is a unique poker variant that blends elements of Omaha and 5 Card Draw. This exciting game features a community board and a split pot, providing a thrilling twist for poker enthusiasts.
How the Game Begins
The game starts with the player clockwise from the dealer placing forced bets, known as blinds. Each participant receives 5 hole cards, leading to an initial round of betting.
Strategic Betting Rounds
Players have the option to call, raise, or fold during each betting round. The game intensifies with the dealing of the flop – three community cards placed in the center of the table, followed by another betting round.
The Unique Twist: Card Exchange
Drawmaha's distinct feature allows players to exchange up to all five cards, adding a layer of strategy. If only one card is exchanged, it's revealed to all players, with the option to accept or receive a new face-down card.
The Turn and The River
Post card exchange, the fourth community card (the turn) is dealt. Another betting round ensues, culminating with the river – the final community card. This leads to the last betting round and potentially a showdown if multiple players remain.
Winning the Pot
The pot is split between the best Omaha hand and the best 5 Card Draw hand. The Omaha hand is formed using two of the player's five cards combined with the community cards, while the 5 Card Draw hand comprises the best possible combination of the player's five cards.
Variants of Play
Typically played with Pot Limit rules, Drawmaha (Sviten) at SWC Poker site offers both Pot Limit and Fixed Limit games to suit various playstyles.
Origins of Drawmaha
The game's alternate name, “Sviten,” is a nod to its origins in the Sviten Poker Club in Stockholm, where it was first played in the summer of 2006.
